It's been a long time since a show made me that angry. A pity, I was really enjoying it till the last 15 minutes. What a load of big, hairy, pendulous bollocks.

ETA. And on watching it some more via Confidential... They have destroyed everything I loved about the show. This is what happens when they let soap writers loose on the precious things of the shop. The way I feel right now; Gods, I think I'll never watch this show again. I really am that angry.

ETA2: And Who-folk are pretty much to a woman and a man agreeing with me. Thank all the Gods for that; I was starting to feel really lonely there for a bit.

Ah...  Fuck. I'm off to watch Genesis of the Daleks, I need some quality - some real - Who to take the nasty taste of Rusty's crappy, lazy writing away. Gods. Yesterday's gardening blitz was deeply satisfying and I got so much done but it's nothing like finished (not even close)and today has dawned, as predicted (thanks beeb) wet. The rain's hammering down out there. Nothing more is going to get done this visit.

For verily, I am broken in several places; shagged, buggered, knackered - almost (if not quite) killed. I have painful weeping blisters on my right hand and said hand seems to have seized in a strange way, like its skin has shrunk.  It's a day for drinking tea, eating crumpets, reading books and writing fic, I think.

I hope everyone had a happy July Fourth. I had a rather enjoyable evening myself, drinking a very pleasant Chilean white (£2.22 from Lidl! Brilliant!) and watching Oz and James' Big Gay Californian Wine Adventure and the Top Gear African special (Oliver!!!) on the DVD.

Just taking a break from the garden. It's like armageddon out there right now. I've cut my finger and I'm blistered all over. There may be pictures later...

Man, you should see the state of things out there. And the sun be beating down but even so, it's awfully, awfully damp and manky and the gathering clouds threaten imminent Weather - but all forecasts say tomorrow's going to be worse so... No getting out of it that way. ::sigh::

But not even going to think about it til I've had some more coffee.

NBC are making a US version of Top Gear.

The main question on my lips is why? That and, which one's supposed to be James May, is he amusingly sexually ambiguous and does he have immaculate spanners?

I suppose it might be alright for those who think Top Gear's a show about cars but - WHY does American TV persist in doing this? If there's a great US show then a British TV company will buy it and show it in all its American glory.  We  rarely  feel the need to remake said show in our own image (resulting in major FAIL). It seems no one listens to Jay Leno anymore.

I wait with baited breath for the eppy when they drive wrecks around Chipping Norton with... ??? painted on their...???

- and here my pre-coffee imagination is defeated. I'm trying to come up with slogans as offensive to middle-English sensibilities as 'Man Love Rules' apparently was in Alabama and failing. Maybe the Flist can help?

I find myself agreeing with him - again (mostly, on the whole, because some of his conclusions are somewhat - stretched? Certainly dubious logic but on the whole, the lad's making sound points). I suppose the sense is to be found in that, for once, he's not griping on about the Great Conspiracy to keep him from writing for NuWho.

Whatever your views, he makes you think, his blog this week is well worth a read (if you have the time and the energy because he does tend to go on a tad).

And the best part of having quit all the Who-comms is not having to over-analyse. Very nice indeed.

Really hard now, and I'm sitting here in my sweats... I've had a work out, was all up for a run; my legs were all ready for that run but it's  pissing down. I suppose if I were uber dedicated I'd go out anyway but I'm going to get drenched and the mud will be so slippy up on the moors and I'll probably end up crippling myself for life.

So, trapped in the house as I am, I thought I'd have a crack at re-starting the long-neglected Academy  fic. I can't say the Muse is biting, cause she's not, but it does no harm to try. Maybe if I make myself write something I can get  the lazy cow off her fat arse and doing her job. Trouble is, it's been so long (the last time I posted an update was Jan 22nd! Shriek out!) I'm going to have to sit and read the whole darn thing through to remind myself what was happening, to whom and why and...
